With pest control training, inspection was always the first and most important step. Ingress and egress points, structural flaws and problems, component failure and degradation; all had to be analyzed to make informed decisions for control of destructive organisms, and repair of failed or damaged structures and components.

With disaster and restoration training, I was exposed to homes in some of the worst possible conditions. Flooded, burned, structural damage due to high wind or mechanical failure, biohazard contamination; all were conditions I experienced as a first-response restoration technician. As with pest control, an extensive inspection for cause, scope of damage and possible impending problems was the first and most important step.

I am a Certified Home Inspector with the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI) and the Housing Inspection Foundation (HIF).
